I want to write a VB application that will allow me to scan all (or predefined) port ranges on a LAN specifically for games, and write the output to a file. Can anyone recommend how I may do this?

So basically, I want the program to scan a network and output all the different types of games people are playing.

Thanks

Use a winsock control to try and connect to each port on each computer. Then if the connection is accepted, that port is open.

You wouldnt happen to know where I could get a list of all the most popular game ports out there would you? Hopefully one that is updated frequently!

Thanks
