how do i set the taskbar's auto-hide property to true during run time?

Epsylon is right...
Many threads here have trying to find the solution.
And it's clearly stated in the microsft documentation
that it cannot be done.

you can only make your own shappbar's autohide by using setstate function.

if you tell us why you need it then maybe we find another workaround

if you need it because it is annoying in a full screen application
then you should the same thing games do: switch the resolution
