Wildcard search by Index server Using msidxs provider

i am using Index server 2000 for searching my site.

how to search wild card characters through msidxs provider .

same time how to set the properties(for content type) for index server using msidxs provider.

on querying i am not getting Vpath,characterization fields for the searched document.
