SSL + IP addresses
We have a windows 2000 server with 1 IP address. We are going to host multiple sites on this using host headers. We also want to host 1 SSL cert. Can we do all this with only 1 IP address?
The domain name for the server will be eg www.abc.com
So I will want to have:
http://www.abc.com
https://www.abc.com
as well as other web sites using host headers on the same IP address
Cheers

Yes, you can do this but I'm not sure if you can have more than one SSL on the same IP. It seems to me that IIS4 had a restriction on this but it may be fixed in IIS5 with W2K. But your proposed situation of having multiple host-header based sites and ONE SSL site is fine.

Thanks for your reassurance. Could you point me in the direction of any links that explain the steps required to use host headers? I am assuming you point all the domain names to the same IP address on the DNS then enter the domain name of each site in the host header advanced section under IIS?
