Tool for Rotating MPEG-movies?

Okay, so I may not be the smartest camera operator in the world. I shot some MPEG movies of my holiday with my Sony CyberShot DSC-S70, but for two of them, I held the camera in the vertical position. Since rotating the screen by 90 degrees is impractical, I am looking for:

an MPEG editing tool, preferably freeware, that lets me rotate the MPEGs so that the side becomes the bottom of the movie, etc.

Thanks!

PS: Since there's no other obvious topic, I assume this is the appropriate one...
PS2: If you conclude that this is a really stupid question, bear in mind that my knowledge of movie editing in general and MPEG in particular isn't much larger than 0%... (-:

I downloaded QT and tried what you suggested, weed - strangely enough, there are no rotation buttons in my Player, even though I can get Movie Properties and go to the Size option.
Also, QT Player doesn't seem to have Save functionality, and I want to change the file permanently, not for one viewing...
Hmm maybe thats only an option in QT Pro. Im so used to the Pro options i cant remember what's in the Player version.
No other suggestions are coming up, and I have found nothing that seems to do what I want... Delete the Q?
Well, QT Pro will do it and its dirt cheap. Cant beat that.
For simply rotating my low-Q holiday movies, I think 29.99 is not that cheap...
QT Pro does alot more than just rotate movies. When used right its a very cool editing utility. Lets you export to dozens of different formats. etc etc etc.
Well... I'll just have to accept that rotating my movies will cost money... )-:
