Hello,

Can somebody tell me if there's a readymade ( portable on all linuxes if possible ) tool which mimics ndd like behaviour ?

I specifically want to set the Timeout params for a socket which is closed, reduce the TIME_WAIT , FIN_WAIT1 ,CLOSE_WAIT & FIN_WAIT2 etc...

ndd ,FYI is used to tune network.

Run 'ndd -h supported' on HP-UX or 'man ndd' under Solaris

need this for Redhat.

Thanks

ndd is not necessary on linux 'cause linux uses the /proc filesystem as "user Interface" to the kernel. For example:

   cat /proc/interrupts
   cat /prot/net/tcp
   etc.

see man 5 proc.
For your special purpose netstat should also give the information.
