1394 card for laptop?

Hi, I am trying to do some DV editing and
my question is whether my Dell Lattitude PII 400
128MB , 12 GB will be fast enough to caputure
digital videos? Also is newer techonogy 1394 pcmia
card a good choice?

Yes, a PII/400 is plenty fast enough and most of the 1394 cards on the market are quite similar in their specs.  Just be sure that the Newer Tech card you are considering has drivers for your Windows version.  Win98SE I assume here...
