spam email in altavista firewall...

hello.....

in my altavista firewall the spam email also use this firewall to send their email...
so how to stop this spam email..

please anybody help me to settle this problem...

Make sure no-one is accessing the firewall from inside your organisation - it's easier to spam from the inside. Turn on full logging on the firewall if necessary and look at the source IP address.

Can you see the spam going through your firewall in the logs? If the source IP address is always the same, or it's always similar, you can add a filter to your router to block that address or range of addresses.

Make sure that any "mail relay" capability is turned off on all your servers and firewalls.

Your ISP should be able to help too - give them a call.
