Drawing antialiased paths

Is there a way to draw paths with antialiasing?

For example:

BeginPath(Canvas.Handle);
Canvas.TextOut(0, 0, 'Text');
EndPath(Canvas.Handle);
StrokeAndFillPath(Canvas.Handle);

Will produce and draw a text, but can the path be drawn antialiased?

What you could do (and this is nasty) is draw the text at twice it's normal size and then sample it down so that it appears smooth

Isn't there a global setting 'Smooth edges of screen fonts' in Control Panel?

Nice comments, I'll try the double size thing although it's obviosly not the greatest way to do this :)

Btw, the 'Smooth edges...' only works when the functions (TextOut etc.) are used to render the fonts as well, they don't affect the paths.

A StrokeAndFillPathWithAntialiasis or something would be very nice...
As a hint, have a look at GetGlyphOutline API, maybe it uses anti-aliasing if it's enabled, never tried it myself...
There are also some components on http://www.torry.net/
