Linux server power off, wont boot again. Emergency !
Emergency ! We know nothing about linux HELP !
Our Linux server (mailserv) has been inproperly shutdown (power off) and now it refuses to boot...
In the boot sequence, it stops at /dev/sda8
and says that it is corrupted and suggest we run fsck manually.
It then asks me for the administrator password for maintenance. So I enter it.
It then brings me to to a prompt :
[mailserv@root]#
So we tried running fsck but it only replies :
Parallelizing fsck ver 1.14 (1999-9-09)
and then back to the prompt...
I HAVE to make it boot NOW !
PLEASE HELP US !
THanks
