I want to create a COleClientItem from a DIB bitmap.
If I save it to a file and use CreateFromFile everything works fine, but if I put it on the clipboard and use CreateFromClipboard I get a OLE_E_STATIC error happening.
Is there anyway I can create to embeded object without having to create the file?

Try setting the first param of CreateFromClipboard to OLERENDER_NONE or OLERENDER_ASIS

Or try using CreateStaticFromClipboard()
