asked on

noise when recording sound

In my program when I recording sounds (using DirectSound),
I received  sound with lot of noise.
Even if I disconnect the microphone from the sound card
I receive noise.
May I need to mute any channels in the mixer?
Or may I need to minimize the gain of the microphone?
(How to do that?)

TIA

1. double click speaker icon in system tray
2. Options -> properties
3. select "Recording" from the dialog
4. uncheck all recording sources except the mic

hope this solves the problem
Check also carefully all the cables running outside your PC : mic and louder cables are often source of noise.
Try to displace them when recording.

good luck
