Can I Enhance JEditorPane Features

hai,Can I enhance the features of JEditorPane to embed a plugin-ShockWavePlayer  , for displaying a director file in JEditorPane.

Actually this director file is of extension 'xxx.dcr' and is called by HTML file, and this  HTML file should be displayed in JEditorPane.

JEditorPane is designed for use with text files.
It could certainly be used to display the HTML, but unless you want a text only ShockWave player then JEditorPane won't help you.
FOr that task, you'd be best of building your own component.

You mean showing the plugin as an object in the text (like an image) ?
If this is what you want to do, implement the object first as a separate component. Then, you have to look in the JEditor's docs to see how to put the component into the text.
I'm sorry, but I'm not very confident with this, so I can't tell you how to do it ; I only know it is very likely to be possible.

hope it helps :-)

WHat you need to do is write a new Text View which involves creating a new implementation of the javax.swing.text.View interface.
These can then be used inside the JEditorPane to render your Director file.
