3DS MAX UV Mapping Plugins?

Are there any 3DS MAX UV Mapping plugins that can bend or loft a cylindric mapping?

I have an object that can easily be UV mapped with a cylinder, but it has a few bends in it. If I could only "bend" the UV coordinates of the the cylinder used to calculate the coordinates through the object's bends, I would be home free!

Obviously the UV unwrapper is not good for this object at all. Is there any other way maybe? (Scripts?)

The best program for texturing would be right hemispheres Texture Weapons. This helps you sort out the mapping coordinates only it uses a similar method to the built in uv unwrapper.

There is a program that lets you create custom mapping designs. It gives you a sort of cage that you can then deform to fit roughly around the object. However I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. I saw it ages ago, and can remember that it is one you have to pay for.

To help woth the mapping look up Texporter. It is a very good piece of software that costs nothing. It doesn't modify the mapping coordinates but unwraps them to an image so that you can see where you are drawing. this has been a great help to me in the past, and means you can often use the standard max mapping tools for the majority of objects.

Another thing to use is chilli skinner. This is largely for low poly games use and basically flattens the objects for planar mapping then reforms the object to how it was. It is all written in max script and is really cool.

I've tried texporter and all unwrapping uv's that I could find, but it is a high polygon count object that I work with (>1400 tris) so I don't think I want to try and do this "by hand".

What I've desided to do is morph the object a cylinder, do the uv mapping and morph the object back to its original vertices.

But if you can remember the name or link of that other program, I'll still award you the points.
