select a subitem in a CListCtrl box

Hi, How can I have the select functionality for Subitems in CListCtrl box in Report mode. It seems that only the Item can be selected and be highlighted, but not subitem. Is there any way I can get around it? Thanks.

Hi!
for ComCtrl32 version above 4.72
you can use extended style to select entire row:
m_wndProblemsList.SendMessage(LVM_SETEXTENDEDLISTVIEWSTYLE,
LVS_EX_FULLROWSELECT , //dwMask
          LVS_EX_FULLROWSELECT); //ApplayStyle
to more older versions you have to handle custom draw mechaism.

migel's answer allows you to select anywhere in the row, but (from memory) does not allow you to select subitems - if that is what you're after.  I solved this by looking at the code for some of the controls in

www.codeguru.com

I think there is an editbox example where you select (for example) a cell in the second row and it pops up an edit box at the correct location.

Hi, LainHere,

Could you tell me where is that code located? It seems like you solved the problem. Besides pup-up the edit box, could you still highlight the subitem only? Thanks.
