Migration ??? Exchange 2000/exchange 5.5

I am going to migrat exchange5.5 to exhange 2000, I
COnfuse about the order of ADC and ForestPrep from following Msft Technet, Which one should go first ?

Msft Technet " A Guide to Upgrading from MS Exchanger Server 5.5 to Exchanger 2000 Server",Page 5, "First, You must prepare the forest schema, then you install and configure the Active Directory Connector (ADC), and then your prepare each of the domain".

Msft Technet " Exchange 2000 in Six Steps", Page 9, " In order to have coexistence with Exchange 5.5 in your organization, You must install ADC before running ForestPrep".

Is this migration an Exchange 2000 joining the existing Exchange 5.5 organization?  
In this case, do the following:

install ADC
create a CA
run setup /forestprep
run setup /domainprep
install Exchange 2000
if all goes well, move the mailboxes.

Point increased for additional question as below,

In Exchange 5.5, "Connection" section on IMS connector, there is a "Transfer Mode" that control inbound/outbound. where can I find this section in Exchange 2000 ? If it does not exist, is there any way to approach the same demand ?
