Delphi 6 Personal - AppBrowser?

I just installed D6 Personal and the first thing I missed is the AppBrowser (the thing where you can Ctrl+Click on a identifier and it jumps to the declaration). Also the Shift+Ctrl+Up/Down shortcut dosn't work. So since the OpenTools Api isn't available in the Personal Edition, do you think it's possible to activate these features anyhow? (without buying the Pro/Enterprise version)

thanks for any help

hi,
i know the feeling though i think its not possible to have them as there not in this version.

i supose they have to miss things like this out or else no one would buy the pro versions.

good news - I stumbled over www.gexperts.org and after some questions in their mailing list, I got it working
seems that the ToolsApi is compiled in the runtime package designide.dcp, so you can still use it :-)
btw - they have a nice procedure list expert, not as good as the code explorer but better then nothing and it's quite useable

i went to install that a few weeks ago but gave up after the first few errors as expected millions more..

what did you have to do to install gexperts?
much changes? what version?
(maybe could email me your installed dir if theres alot to change?)
if you can give me some details or something to save me some time ,i will open a new q for some points for you.
i really could do with the multiline component pallet :-)
i hate scrolling accross to find stuff and cant get d6 pro verison for another mnth or so yet..
cheers Barry

I downloaded the daily build from 17.08.2001 (just the newest one) and made the changes that Rick Hollerich suggested to me in the gexperts group at yahoo (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GExpertsDiscuss)

This is not true.  I have Delphi 6 Personal and can compile and use it just fine.  In Project Options-Packages- Runtime packages, put "vcl;vclx;designide" and in GX_CondDefine.inc, comment out all third party products and the BDE lines (Lines 58-64,76-77).  This should allow it to compile. If not let me know and I will check to see if there was something else I changed to compile.  Some of the third party stuff should work, if you have the Delphi 6 versions of them, but I haven't tried it.  Right now I am only trying to fix the Multiline Editor tabs problem.

note - the line numbers are not correct, but I'm sure you will find it :-)

good luck
