BroadBand Internet Booster?

I received an offer via Internet to buy this software, version 1.0. It supposedly doubles to triples set speed of DSL, cable or T1 connections by adjusting Windows (all version since 95) parameters.

Sounds too good to be true so before I cough up 25 bucks, I would like to ask if anybody here is familiar with it.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

Not sure about this one, but any I've seen in the past only end up slowing things down and cause more problems. There are no magic bullets. Are you having problems with your connection? If so, what type is it and what exactly is the problem?

Some of these programs do help a phone line type connection, but many times create other problems by running in the background. As DSL, cable and T1 connections are by nature much faster, I would suspect that at best you might see a 10% increase. But then again, the same problems may occur. I recommend keeping things simple, and optimizing if necessary, with your own settings.

Thanks for your answer. I was just curious as their promisses about tripling the  d/l rate seemed to be too sweet. I use DSL with a bridge on it, as I live just about the longest possible distance from the office. This means that instead of maximum speed of 1.5 Mbits I am getting maximum of 750 Kbits. For downloads I use Download Accelerator Plus, not as much for speed as to enable to resume d/l after interruptions. Outstanding stuff!

So I shall keep my things simple and at the same time I will save 25 bucks.

Thanks,

Nick

I see you must know how to do that already from your profile. Sorry for being simplistic. It must have not taken. There have been some bugs in the works around here, so if you're happy with my comments, I'd suggest trying to accept one again. If it still doesn't work, I'll post again, only as an answer, to see if you're able to accept that. Thanks.
