Hye guys. I have a .avi file that when I open in Windows Media Player it says downloading from Codec server then it starts playing but I only get sound. I then tried opening it in IrfanView and I get an error saying "Video not available, cannot find 'vids:div3' decompressor". Any ideas what I can do or what I need to view this video file ??

Thanks in advance

Thanks...I actually found what I needed right after I posted the question. I will give you the points but maybe you can help me out with one other thing. I can view the movie in Windows Media Player but I can't adjust the brightness like I can on any other movie. I move it up but nothing happens. Any ideas ?

Thanks

I wish I could help, but I didn't even know you *could* adjust the brightness.  I'm using 6.4 right now and don't see any setting for it anywhere. :(

OK, I see it's under View\Settings, but it's grayed out when I play an .avi file.

Still, I don't have any idea why it isn't working for you.  I'm sorry.
