installing locale

I'm trying to install ja_JP.SJIS locale on HP-UX. I copied ja_JP.SJIS file to dir /usr/lib/nls/loc/locales but locale is still not listed in list of locales (locale -a). What do I have to do to install it?

Hi

  My OS is AIX, where there is the localedef command.
I dont know about HP-UX.

  Try  "man localedef"
