Sybase Performance on AIX
We have a AIX box running Sybase..Unfortunaly we have no sybase unix person or dba..I know about dba on Sun and Oracle..
My question(s):
1. We need to look at the tuning parameters for sybase. How do I get that info?
2. What are some simple parameters to check and change that will give the best performance?
3. Is there a gui tool on the aix for sybase that help view the sybase database.

What is the purpose of your AIX server? Is it a database server? Is it a database/webserver? Do you have Java beans/middle tier exe on it? How many "engines"(CPUs) are on the server? How much memory do you have? How many disk controller(s)/disk(s)? Are they simple disk arrays or are they EMC disks? What type of database (data warehouse or OLTP)? Is it web based, wan, lan, etc?
What size is your current database? Expected growth(per month/year)?
