Problem with Bullets in Lotus Notes

Whenever I type text with bullets in an e-mail, the bullet comes in as small and hollow (it used to
come in filled and small), but when I print out that e-mail, the bullet comes out very large and hollow.
How can I get the bullet to go back to its original format (filled and small)?
