I need the driver for 8665c Pavilion PC.
Its a combo modem/sound card.

I looked into HP and many other sites without any progress. I could make the sound card work but could not get the modem driver.

If any one has this driver please provide the info or I would appreciate if you can mail that to ghimireniraj@yahoo.com

Be specific about your problem.  This _is_ the driver.

Are you sure your hardware is good?

What version of Windows?

Sorry for the duplicate post.

Yes I am sure the hardware works properly.

I lost my recovery diskettes that had the drivers.

Installed Win2000 and could not find the appropriate driver
then reinstalled win98 and again could not get the modem driver anywhere.

If anyone had the recovery diskette for this PAVILION PC 8665c , the driver is in this CD.

I could not find it anywhere else.

Actually the link Jhance provided is for the same model and that was the first thing that I tried without sucess.

Why does everyone say this?  Am I the only person who saves these things??

You can get another recovery CD from HP:

well, since jhance has provided you the link here, i guess there isnt anything wrong with the driver.

BTW, is the modem an internal unit? If so you might need to install a com port for it first. The driver should come together with the cd but might need manual installation. So go to add new hardware and select ports from the list and point to the driver folder. Proceed with installation.

This one I would totally agree with.

It is probably a problem with how other devices were recognized that is causing your sound issue.  Sure your sound may not work, but there could be some other device taking memory addresses that are supposed to be used by the sound card.

Are you borrowing OSs?  How were you able to reload without system CD?  Not a good idea to do this on proprietary systems until you do have all of the drivers you need burnt to a CD.
