download images from internet

I want to download images and keep them on my server
using crontab service.
for html source codes i do:
#lynx -source "http://................";
but it can't help to get images.
have somebody any idea?

Try GNU wget instead of lynx.

http://freshmeat.net/projects/wget/

wget http://www.somesite.com/todaysimage.jpeg -O /home/you/somesite-images/`date '+%d-%m-%y'`.jpeg

Will save http://www.somesite.com/todaysimage.jpeg with the filename: http://www.somesite.com/25-08-01.jpeg

Leaving off the -O and filename at the end will just use the file name that the server uses. (todaysimage.jpeg)

can you help me to supress the output?
