i want to know what other alternatives to crystal reports are available out there which are similar to crystal reports. i want to know what alternatives are available for ASP reporting

There are several currently open questions asking the same thing.  

Unfortunately I don't know how to paste it as a link but here is one that provides a link to a list of SQL report writing tools.

Try lgxReportDev from LogiXML.  This is a great tool and is priced lower than Crystal Reports.  It uses ASP.NET & XML.  Check out the site at http://www.logixml.net/products/ReportDev/reportDev.htm for details.
