I am trying to use a hyperlink to a PDF file (I am assuming user has Acrobat).

The file seems to be downloading OK but I can't make Acrobat come up in IE 6 when clicking on link.

Page is at http://www.erhsalum.com/erhspopup.htm . Click on the reminder graphic.

Any help would be appreciated.

Further comments:

It seems to work for me using NS 4.7 and IE 5.5 OK. I think it might be a problem with IE6.0 (FINAL RELEASE).

I am not concerned about size of PDF file or load time. The user is alerted to this by a comment on the actual page I am using in this regard. http://www.erhsalum.com/erhspopup2.htm

Your file isn't working for me in IE5.5, and it's pretty big for a PDF (over a meg).

IE6 isn't good to use for a test, it's not something that most people will have. (Actually, hardly anybody will have it)

I'd say regenerate the PDF, and check the settings when you do.

It is a bit weird as IE5.5 downloads it, but won't show it, exactly why, I can't say (unless it's something to do with what you created it with?)

It is a large file (1.34Mb), and I can't really see people waiting around for it to load... :/

A tip - try and keep all filenames in one case, e.g., lowercase as it helps prevent "file not found problems" caused by the incorrect case used in link to a file.

oops, I posted in http://www.experts-exchange.com/jsp/qShow.jsp?qid=20176714

Here are my comments from that thread.

Your link sent me to a file not found page....I was then redirected to the home page.  Holy JavaScript
Batman!  I got motion sickness just watching the page load!  LOL  Also, unless I had the window maximized,
your navigation menu kept moving itself off the bottom of my screen (1024 x768)

Where exactly is this pdf problem you are having?

ahhhh....you have posted a different link in each question.

The pdf won't come in for me either....another hint....try to keep file extensions in lower case.

IE 5.5 SP2 disables netscape style plugins like QT and may or may interfere with others, like the acrobat reader plugin. Here's to MS for removing standard features and replacing them with proprietary features.
