When starting the Notebook outside the dockingstation windows 2000 tends to freeze on Startup - this doesn't happen all the time but frequently enough to be anoying.
The startup screen opens and the loading progress bar is moving to about 50% - in that stage the HD stops spinning for half a second, just to speed up again in an instant. After this loading continues for a short time with very short accesses to the harddrive (The control-LED show a couple of very dim lighings). At about 60% the computer freezes completely.
All these symptoms only occur when startup fails! I already turned off the PowerSafe Features in Bios but that didn't help.
See the Toshiba site.
2) Make sure you have SP2 installed.
3) Use Start- windowsupdate , to get any new , relevant patches.
4) If you have a network card in the laptop ( not the one in the docking station ), try removing it.
I hope this helps !
