When starting the Notebook outside the dockingstation windows 2000 tends to freeze on Startup - this doesn't happen all the time but frequently enough to be anoying.<br />

The startup screen opens and the loading progress bar is moving to about 50% - in that stage the HD stops spinning for half a second, just to speed up again in an instant. After this loading continues for a short time with very short accesses to the harddrive (The control-LED show a couple of very dim lighings). At about 60% the computer freezes completely.<br />

All these symptoms only occur when startup fails! I already turned off the PowerSafe Features in Bios but that didn't help.<br />

Any ideas appreciated.

Windows 2000 is an operating system for use on both client and server computers. It is the successor to Windows NT 4.0, and is the last version of Microsoft Windows to display the "Windows NT" designation.
