Temperatrure reading

Can anyone tell me how I can get temperature readings from my motherboard into visual basic.

My motherboard is an abit kt7a, and I am trying to write a program to shut off fans when the processor reaches a particular temperature!

They have a freeware program that monitors the temperatures etc. and a lot of different things you can set up.
