It depends much on what you using - specific web server - like Apache/Tomcat or WebLogic, for example or different APIs - Sun's JSSE or JSAFE, etc.
Would u give some more details?

Just use a https url with URLConnection and SSL will be automagically used.

URLConnection conn = new URL("https://wwww.objects.com.au").openConnection();

objects,
First, we do not know still how FAKHREELDIN intends to use SSL - maybe he/she just wants make a standalone client to talk to a standalone app server - no http, no browsers, etc.
And second, it's often needed to do some additional settings to the web server in order to use ssl - for example, to provide it with specific certificates it is used and so on.
I mean, we do not know many things about FAKHREELDIN's problem and there's nothing that could be suggested excluding links to general docs...
It was just a comment pointing out that some SSL support is already built in to Java.  Wasn't at all intended as an answer to their question.

P.S.  For any year 2000 questions, special attention is needed to ensure the first correct response is awarded, since they are not in the comment date order, but rather in Member ID order.
