Get rid of the #*%*$&# Outlook Express shortcuts

I have a terminal server that users log into to run their applications.  However, each time a new profile is created a new Outlook Express shortcut is 'created' in the quick launch (not a problem) and in the start menu.  I would really like to know if there is a way to keep this from happening.

I've tried creating a "Default User" profile in which Outlook Express does not exist anywhere.  But when the user logs in the damn shortcuts get created.

Thanks,
Eli

Did you load IE directly from the CD when you loaded the operating system and applications?  MS puts OE in the default build of IE.  Major pain in the rear.  If this is the way OE got on your server you may try to get the IEAK and create another build of IE.  The IEAK lets you specify whether or not you want OE in the build.

It installed with the OS (Windows 2000) and then was updated by the install of Office 2000.

Could I use IEAK to create a new build and use it to update the existing build.  Or is there a way I can get into the system and just remove all instances of OE?

Thanks!

No, there's no option.  I checked the list of installed programs as well as "add/remove windows components".
