Converter for .ART format mages?

IE4 can display them, and they look sooooooooooooooooooooooooo kool, showing the full out of focus picture getting clearer as it loads (like GIS's but not blocky)!

But I can't find a GIF or JPEG or BMP (etc!) converter to this great format, and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about .ART's or where to get the converter?

PSP 7 can't load them.

I've put a demo piture here off the web:

The .art format is....well.....awful. Aside from the fact that most browsers cant view them, they tend to be large, and substandard quality. There is a reason PSP and Photoshop dont like them. If you want a really great format try PNG or JPEG2000

Actually, you can load the ART file into Internet Explorer, then go to File and Save As and save them as a BMP (bitmap file).  Then you can edit the Bitmap file however you want.

I figured this out recently for a friend who was trying to make some CD labels from some ART images.  I don't know which version of IE you have to have, but I'm pretty sure he was using IE 5 or higher.

Well did we answer your question or not?  I know my way is correct.  Please grade the question if it works for you.
If you'd like a good convertor try using one that is also an HTML editor.....ever heard of CoffeeCup.  In their editor they'll also let you convert image fromats.  I'll save an .art file as a .bmp file and then in CoffeeCup I'll right click the file name and you can either convert it to a .gif, .jpg or even a .png graphic.  It's really a great tool to have b/c your right, they do look cool!
Graphics Workshop Professional will convert ART Files to any of 50 or so other formats. It supports batch conversion as well.

Sorry!

I didn't make it clear!

I wanted to convert from .Bmp or .PNP, or .Jpg (whatever PSP can convert them) INTO the .Art format!

Has anyone got an idea?

Yikes. If our comments above didnt talk you out of this awful format, nothing will.
Lab Rat:

As suggested before you may want to look at Graphics Workshop Professional. It will convert to AOL / Johnson-Grace ART files as well as from.

See http://www.mindworkshop.com/alchemy/gwspro.html for details.
