we have a client who has head office in country A and ten to twenty shops in country B.he wants to visually monitor what is going in each of his twenty outlets in country B sitting in his office in country A.
what is the best video/webcam solution available for this keeping in mind the cost effectiveness too.
Watch Question

Any hum-drum webcam would do it. Nothing special needed. Just make a local webpage with links to each broadcast so that he can load all of them on one page or click individual images for individual streams.

I suggest the Intel camera with the blue button on top.  They come with great software that automatically uploads snapshots to the web for you.

All it does it take a picture every X number of seconds, and uploads that file to the web.  You then make a basic webpage that displays that image, and add a control to refresh the page ever X number of seconds, so that a new image is always displayed.

As far as cost, you need only pay for the camera and to have an internet connection in the store.  Of course you will need a computer, too.

For the webspace needed to store the graphics, there will only be one JPEG image per camera used, so you won't need hardly any space.  If you have an AOL, Earthlink, or some other account you can use the webspace they provide to their users.
