Big Database restore issue

Our database size is about 180G and I am trying to restore this database from SAN storage (Local drive don't have enough space to save this) to SQL 7.0 (Service Pack3) Enterprise Edition with NT 4.0 Enterprise  Server.
I got the I/O error.  If I restore it to SQL7 with Windows 2000 Advanced Server, there is no problem.
Microsoft told me that's NT4.0 problem. They said if it's over 150G, NT4.0 has a problem to restore it.
Anybody has an experience with this problem?
How do you resolve it?

I don't know if this is an NT problem, but if you have one single file for your database, i guess you should investigate anyway to split it up into several files...

Now, to solve your problem, you might try to restore the database on Win2k, and use the sp_detachdb + sp_attachdb method to "move" your database to the nt4 server...

Cheers
