I have a COM server that I want to run in the background.  Meaning, I don't want to see the main form, I don't want to see the Icon in the task bar, I would like to not even have the Icon in the System Tray.  Any suggestions?

Yeah, make it an ActiveX library if possible.

Will it be an EXE or can it be a DLL ?

If it's a DLL it'll never be seen.

There are several ways to hide EXEs, depending on just how
hidden it needs to be.

To remove the app icon from the taskbar, a simple way is:
  SendMessage(Application.Handle, SW_HIDE);

Hiding fromt the Windows task list (Ctrl+Alt+Del) is a little more complex and platform dependent, I think.
