Win Me wont shut-down
I have Win-ME.
for he past weeks, It wont shut down.
When I am telling it to shut-down, the screen gets black.
After physically shutting it down with the power button,
It does "scan disk" operations, you check C drive, when it restarts.
Is it relate to windows configuration or hardware ?
how can I prevent it ?
Thx,

Did you install any hardware or software before getting this problem?

1) Disable all power down options in the BIOS.
No such option.
2) Check the power down options in the control panel.
I asked "NEVER" for all cases.
3) Get the newest BIOS ipdate.
Please explain.
4) Get the newest drivers for all your hardware !
I have.
5) disable all un needed stuff in the msconfig - startup Tab.
So I did.
So far, still wouldn't shut-down.

Most pentium and above BIOS's are upgradable thru a bootable diskette with a newer BIOS image that is flashed into the BIOS chip.
You need to go to your motherboards manufacturer site and llok for BIOS updates etc.
BIOS
http://www.wimsbios.com/
http://www.ping.be/bios/numbersami.shtml
http://www.motherboards.org/ubb/Forum2/HTML/
or check the motherboard manufacturers website.
To ID it go to http://www.sysopt.com/mboard.html
I hope this helps !
