I'm looking for the Visual C++ equivalent of an InputBox from Visual Basic. I just need to ask the user for a name using a small dialog that I can return to another dialog. The simplest method would be preferred.

VC has something called resource editor (I think ou know about it)
Place an edit box in a window(dialog) and assign a variable to it. Use that var. to access the content f the edit box from the program.

What bkdc is suggesting is that you won't find a single function solution like in VB.  You'll need to build the input dialog, and then call it from the other dialog.  Fortunately, this is all made much easier by MFC.

Any problems, ask :-)
