I need to create a site to site VPN connection and I also have to buy a router. I have looked on Cisco?s site and there is very little data on VPN support for the 2600 series routers.
So my question is will a 2600 series router establish a VPN connection and where can I find data on the configuration for it?

Thanks

VPN Connections with Cisco 2600 is possible without
any probles, the only thing you will need is the
right Cisco IOS installed on the router. (for small leased lines <= 128KB, you can also use Cisco 1700 routers)

Cisco 2600 overview

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/rt/2600/prodlit/2600_ov.htm

The Cisco IOS you'll need

Cisco IOS IP/FW/IDS PLUS IPSEC 56 or 3 DES

Are you going to use cisco router on both sites or only at one site, if only one, what are you using at the other site

I don't know whether you can use a Windows 2000 PC as a VPN client to make VPN connection with a Cisco 2600 router, but you can do like that with a Cisco VPN 3000 concentrator. You can refer to the following address for more information:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/471/Win_client.html

or you can search on Cisco website with keyword "Windows 2000 VPN client"
