Reinstall Exchange server 5.5

Hello,

There is an Exchange server 5.5 running in my site for a long time, called server A. Recently I installed another Exchange server 5.5 and joined the existing site, called server B. Now I want to reinstall server A from the very beginning. That means I will reinstall the NT system and Exchange server.

I will move all mailboxes from server A to server B before installation, and move back to server A after the new installation and configuration completes.

I want to know if there is any constraint to this task. Please help!

I assume this is an intranet server.
If both servers are a member of the same domain,
then you should be ok.
be sure to unplug server A and test server B before the reconstruct.

there is a problem ......u will have to move the routing calcualation server to the second server manually....it dosent happen on its own.
infact there is a very good ms knowledgebase article..regarding what to do when u decide to remove the first server

It all depends. If this is the first server on the site there are a lot of things you should be aware of. Please let me know if this is the case and will send you more information. If it is not just make sure that before you attempt to put it back in , you had deleted it from the site and let the change replicate through your organization.
