How to "hide" a group from all but a few

We have an "everyone" group in our mail groups that includes everyone in the company.
How can we stop most but not all of the user base from being able to use it to send "crap" around to everyone and reserve it just for important "to all" info.
We tried renaming the group to something odd so it wouldn't seem obvious in the Address Book list but that doesn't seem to help.
Other than just putting the name of the group on the LOCAL address books of authorized people, any clever thoughts?

Use read access to the document and allow only certain people to access that group document.

This will prevent the user to lookup the group.

We did that, but as soon as an
"authorized" person sends out a document, the name of the "GROUP" is in the "FROM" and the name is compromized.

Include Server name/group in the read access list.
