How to turn off HTML rendering in MS Outlook & Express

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to turn off the HTML rendering of email messages?  Our school wants to receive the messages in text only.  They still want to surf the internet with HTML and graphics, but do not want to receive HTML email.  Thanks for any help you can share!

What program are you using?  I don't know of any way to turn off the reception of html messages.  You can set it so all you send is html messages.
you can't do it from outlook or express - the server would have to do it. why do they want to strip the messages? mayhaps there's another solution...

The reason for wanting to strip the HTML is to avoid running a javascript or applet when the message is opened.

We are using Outlook and Outlook Express.

If we cannot turn off the HTML rendering, is there a way to tell before you open a message whether it is clear text or HTML?

Thanks to all,
Why not just configure Outlook/Outlook Express to use the Restricted Zone of IE.  Once that is done you should be able to configure this zone to disallow everything.

Only thing left at that point is to apply any security fixes (available via http://www.microsoft.com/security take the bulletins link).

Do this will make it harder for you to be attacked via email, but still not impossible.  Just remember, anything connected to a network is at risk.
