Snooping RS232 comms

Anyone know where I can get software that snoops on RS-232 communications.
I.e. I have a program that reads/writes to the com port and I need another program that will display ALL the data going to and from the com port.

I once had software to do this - downloaded it from somewhere on the net but I can't find it anymore.

Thanks SysExpert for the quick response, but I didn't ask for a list of download sites...

I have searched such sites and I know there are a ton of programs to analyse data from serial port, but none of them will snoop rs232 data while another program has the com port open.

What I need is a program that snoops the data going into and out of the serial port while another process is communicating via that serial port.

Give me a link to the actual download for the utility that does that, for the 200 points.

What you are asking for,  is very difficult , technically speaking.

The easiest solution, that may be feasible is to use a hardware snopper/ data/ analyzer or to try an split the serial port at one end to go to 2 machines.

I hope this helps !

As I said before, I had downloaded a piece of software that does exactly this type of snooping. I am just trying to find it again...

Hello Zebada,

I wonder if you're thinking of Serial Port Monitor from http://www.sitenation.com/serial/
(I've purchased this one and it's rather good);

Also check out Sysinternals (http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/portmon.shtml), they also have a simple serial port monitor;

Another one is(more sophisticated and expensive)is Serial Port monitor VI for Labview from www.sstreams.com;

Another http://www.retisoft.com/SerialMonitorFeatures.html;

Hope I could help!
