How would I go about opening a file for use with the extension .pub if I do not have the program (Microsoft
Publisher)?

If unable to open the file without the program (Microsoft Publisher)can you provide me some optional
programs (hopefully something free)?

Note: I am unable to open the files using Microsoft Piture it!Pubblishing 2001

Thanks

Welcome to the primary reason most service bureaus wont accept MS Publisher documents. As far as i know nothing else will open them so youre probably out of luck. You MIGHT be able to find a Quark plugin to translate it but i very very much doubt it nor is Quark free or even cheap.

weed is correct.  I have looked several times and there is NOTHING that will open Microslopt publisher files except the program itself.  This has confused me for some time, as Microslopt has a viewer for Word, Excel and PowerPoint files - why not Publisher????  (it's microsoft - no need to say more)

It is so bad that even their own "flagship" product WORD cannot open or insert a .pub file.

I will ask around at work and get back here if I get a positive reply, but if I don't post again within 2 days - you can bet that all the answers I got were NO.

GOOD LUCK!

John
Just to add something to this..  Microsoft DOES offer a 60-day trial of Publisher so if you just have a file or two that you need to get open, you can download it and install the trial..

I'm actually doing that as I type..
