Invalid attribute/option identifier
Whenever I run a query in SQL Query Analyzer I get this error a few times before the result set:
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Invalid attribute/option identifier
My Enterprise manager cannot connect to the databases.
It seems some DLL files are old and need to be updated. Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?

You should try and install the latest MDAC from Microsoft.

When I run the ADO 2.6 sp1 installations it seems to install some files but after a while he reports:

What's the version of your SQL-server ODBC driver (SQLSRV32.DLL)?
ASKER
c:\winnt\system32\sqlsrv32 .dll
Properties, Version:
File version: 3.70.9.61
Description: Microsoft SQL Server ODBC Driver
513KB, 2001-05-04 12:05
Can I change this one manually to anoter version to get this working? What more dll's are critical for this application? (probably a lot =).

I think that the cleaned way to solve the problem, will be the re-installation of the sql-server client connectivity.

erde, yeah. I agree. But the re-installation program does not solve the problem, that's why I'm trying to do it "manually".
I have replaced the c:\winnt\system32\sqlsrv32 .dll to 2000.80.380.0 But it seems to be incompatible with some other dll. Now SQL Query Analyzer reports:
SQL Server ODBC driver support error
Unable to load SQL Server ODBC driver resource DLL. The application cannot continue.

I did a copy of the sql*.* from the other computers c:\winnt\system32 and now everything works fine. Thanks!
Do you have also the resource file of the same version into the system32-dir. There must be also the file SQLSRV32.RLL.
What do you get when you look into the ODBC-adminstrator?
Look at the drivers and their versions.
