This is more likely to be a virus scanning program than Photoshop.  Do you have a virus scanner?  Check the scanner's properties for whether it scans the floppy and disable it if so.

If you do not have a virus scanner, I believe Photoshop has a setting for "default working directory" and "default backup directory".  You can check if either of these are set to "A:".  I am working from memory since I don't have a copy of this program right now so those settings may not be worded exactly in that way.  Report back with what you do find and we can work from there.

But seriously, do you don't think this person is a native speaker, do you?  I really doubt it and was trying to be helpful, not sarcastic.  If this person IS a native speaker, he/she needs remedial writing class so badly it's almost unimaginable.  What would such a native speaker be doing with Photoshop and not crayons?  (preferably the really waxy kind that wash easily off the walls)  Don't know about you, but it took me a while to decipher this question when I first read it.  You just can't function in the modern world with such poor written communications skills.  This person needs all the tutoring he/she can get.

When I try to learn another language, I appreciate all the help I can get.  If you know Hebrew I will ask for your help when I try to learn it.  My friends from other countries are always asking me help them with English so I just do it by habit.

My answer, that the Photoshop working directory is set to floppy "A", is the same as the answer you accepted from weed.  Maybe you are too insecure to accept some helpful suggestions on your writing and gave the credit to weed because of anger at being corrected.
