I just wanna know the basic knowledge about Watcom C  and what actually it can do.
Watcom C/C++ compiler is a joint effort between SciTech Software, Sybase, and some other developers. It is just another C++ compiler and what it can do is up to you.

Here is a page with a lot of Watcom links:

What is more important than the compiler is actually learning C++ itself, because that's where the real power lies. The compiler just iterprets what you have do. As compiler go, it is not bad, although the GNU C++ is generally regard as the best (i.e. complies best with ANSI C++ standard)
For any C++ beginners I would reccomend DEV-C++ from bloodshed because

a) is quite easy to install

b) has a nice IDE - forget about cryptic command-line parameters for a start

c) It is based on the GNU C++ compiler and you can create console (DOS like) and Windows applications

d) it is free from http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html

also a good freebe is

cygwin or djgpp, they are windoze ports of gnu tools, they very good, just search yahoo for them.

if i was you i would stay away from ide environments to start with so you get a chance to learn make etc and how the complie and link process work. you will be a better programmer in the long run, and besides you will need to know for unix programming anyway

a good make tutorial is here
