Hi,
I know that in winnt4 you had to reinstall the service pack after you installed anything but in windows 2000 professional do you have to reinstall the service pack after installing software.

will it affect the speed if you don't?

Windows 2000 remembers where the service pack is, and installs the necessary files when needed (when an original file is replaced). So sometimes, if you install software, windows will ask you to insert the windows 2000 service pack cd. No need to do it manually anymore.

don't we love windows 2000?? :)

yeah.
I just got it set up with the network and it manages my memory way better than Windows ME.

it is also more stable of course.
