SGA error ???

SVRMGR> connect internal
Connected.
SVRMGR> shutdown abort
ORACLE instance shut down.
SVRMGR> startup nomount pfile=/ora7/db/init.ora
ORA-07306: sms1sg: shmget error, unable to get a shared memory segment.
Digital Unix Error: 12: Not enough space
Additional information: 1
SVRMGR> exit
Server Manager complete.

I am having following entries in int.ora :-

db_block_size = 4096
db_block_buffers = 315125
#    files
db_files = 60
#    file executed while creating DB
#    log
log_archive_start = false
distributed_transactions=10

log_checkpoint_interval = 10000
log_buffer = 409600
#    max. simultaneous processes
processes = 30
#
compatible = 7.3.0.0.0
#
rollback_segments=rbs31
#
shared_pool_size = 1000000
shared_pool_reserved_min_alloc = 30000
shared_pool_reserved_size = 300000
#


please suggest.

Hi

You do not have set unix parameter SHMMAX large enough to start this database, but you have other problems and that is:
db_block_size = 4096      (bytes)
db_block_buffers = 315125  (db_block_size times this param)
That is: 4096 x 315125 = 1290752000 bytes!!!

shared_pool_size = 1000000 (bytes!!!)

I suggest you set shared_pool_size to about 20000000 to start with and db_block_buffers to 5000 that is also 20M.

I assume that you can start your database afterwards.
