merging Excel and MFC-App toolbars

hi,
i am writing an MDI application, embedding Excel as an ActiveX control.
As i am adding an Excel object to my view (or activating an Excel-container) my menu&toolbar switch to Excel's menu&toolbar. That's fine.
BUT i want to keep my own toolbar buttons, and merge them on the left of the Excel's toolbar, or add them below/above it. The same way as i can add my own menu items to the OLE-Item's menu.
Does anyone have any clue?
thanx,

Automation hooks (properties/methods) exist to add or modify menus on an instance of XL.

I found the hardest thing about using the automation interface to XL was finding the doco.

You should look in (by double clicking):
   C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\1033\Vbaxl9.chm
if you are using OFFICE-2K

You should look in
   C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\1033\Vbaxl8.hlp
if you are using OFFICE-97

I do not know the name of the OfficeXP help file but looking in the aforementioned subd should find it.

The appropriate help file (the two above) will explain the automation 'facilities' available to you, you will have to 'search' and 'index' and 'contents' but I did find the toolbar stuff in that doco once before (to answer a question on EE)

BTW: - Looking for the topic
"Automating Microsoft Office 97 and Microsoft Office 2000"
in MSDN will give you (what I think!) is the definitive reference on using the automation features of XL (and WORD, and OUTLOOK, and ACCESS).

Good luck with it !  - christophm
