ODBC most likely needs to be part of the database you would like ODBC to host. Can you provide some more details about the hosting database you want to use ?

Thanks.
The answer is "YES". SUN does support ODBC and demo drivers ship with current versions of Solaris (ie: 7 & 8). The driver for ODBC is actually made by Intersolv so if you would like a fully functional driver, you will have to buy it seperate at Intersolv (which has been bought buy a company called Merant http://www.merant.com/ ). The package name is SUNWCodbc and is not too difficult to configure regardless of the database you are using (Oracle, MS SQL, Informix). Full documentation is available at http://www.merant.com/products/datadirect/_odbc/techresources/productdoc/otdocument.asp). You can also get the most current downloadable demo version at the Merant site.

There are other ODBC drivers out there too. Most databases have a native client, e.g. mysql : http://www.mysql.com/doc/I/n/Installing_MyODBC.html

P.S.  For any year 2000 questions, special attention is needed to ensure the first correct response is awarded, since they are not in the comment date order, but rather in Member ID order.
I believe that I have answered this question thouroughly and even provided a link to additional information. I would recommend that I recieve the full 100 points.

In addition, I would like a car and a suit case full of $1,000,000 in small unmarked bills. :)
Indeed, thank you, finalized today.
