Hi,
I istalled on an existing Win2k system the ATA/100 drivers that came with the GA-7DXR mother board. after restarting I couldn't boot anymore-  I got the "Inaccesible_boot_device" blue screen. no safe-mode wither, nothing.
later, I found out that on Win2k Ineed to install the driver - along with the Win2k installation. (Win2k setup disk asks if Iwant a SCSi or RAID driver, to press F6 before installing).
Well, too bad - I already had Win2k up and runing ?
What can I do now in this situation ?

1) reinstall win2k using repair mode. this should fix your problem.

If not, reinstall into a serperate directory ( \winnt2), this will at least give you access to your data.

BTW- installing the driver after win2k was setup, should not have created a problem usually.

I would read all related docs and troubleshooting info.

I hope this helps !

Well, the doc eplains how to install on a new or existing win 95/98/me but only on a new win2k.
the troubleshooting in the docs says that if I come across that error message - I should have pressed F6 during Win2k install. (well...da...)
If I re-install win2k with the repair option - will it keep all my settings and user definitions intact ?
should I choose the repair in the first menu (instal/repair/cancel) or go into setup and when the setup prog tells me it already found Win2k - if I want to repair it ?
Also, should I do it with the repair disks ?
what about the service pack 2 ? will I have to re-install it ?

Well.. the only way to instal this driver on Win2k was to re-install the OS and during setup - to add this driver.
any other way killed the OS
